Transitioning to LCP DRM for EBSCO eBooks: What Libraries Need to Know

Jan 29, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. ET

EBSCO is transitioning EBSCO eBooks to LCP DRM from EDRLab, a more accessible, streamlined, and secure alternative to Adobe. LCP removes Adobe account requirements, supports accessible reading with Thorium Reader, and simplifies the user experience.

Join us for an in-depth overview of EBSCO's migration to the new LCP DRM solution and what it means for your library and users.

In this webinar, we will cover:

  • EBSCO eBooks’ adoption of LCP DRM from EDRLab as its new digital rights management solution, a major advancement that enhances security, accessibility, and offline reading for library patrons.
  • An overview of upcoming changes and what libraries can expect during the transition period.
  • Recommended steps to help your institution prepare for the migration.
  • A live demonstration in Thorium Reader, showing how patrons will download and open DRM-protected EBSCO eBooks using the new workflow.
  • Guidance on key topics such as migration timing, user impacts, technical requirements, and library configuration options.

Choose Your Library’s LCP DRM Migration Timing

All libraries will migrate on April 14, 2026, with an optional May 19, 2026 date for those needing more time. If the April timeline works for you, no action is required.

Select the May migration date.
