The Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI)

Produced by the Latin American Institute at UCLA, HAPI is a bibliographic database indexing scholarly journal articles about Latin America, the Caribbean, and related diaspora communities published worldwide since the late 1960s. Indexed titles from Asia and Oceania include Asian Journal of Latin American Studies, JILAR, Latin America Report, Latin America Ronshu, and Perspectivas Latinoamericanas.

A Comprehensive Multilingual Resource

HAPI supports research in Latin American studies with subject indexing and multilingual search options in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Its coverage spans political, economic, and social issues as well as the arts and humanities, drawing from more than 400 active academic journals and over 700 titles dating back to 1968. The database includes more than 340,000 citations, with full-text links for nearly 180,000 records.
