Speakers
Kendal Spires is a Collection Development Librarian for NoveList, where she catalogs graphic novels and manages selection and weeding for Core Collections. She has been reading comics since she was old enough to pluck them off the rack near the supermarket checkout.
April Mazza is a Learning Content Specialist at NoveList where she develops and teaches course curriculum for Learn with NoveList. She previously worked in public, school, and special library settings. As a kid, April and her older brother would fight over who got to read the Sunday comics first, which turned into a lifelong love of art, illustration, comics, and graphic novels.
Moderator Yaika Sabat is the Manager of Reader Content and Services at NoveList, where she develops strategies for helping readers and trains library staff in the art of recommending books. Before NoveList, she worked in public libraries, and no matter the role, her favorite part of work has always been discussing books.
