About

Register today for EBSCO’s Library Technology Day, Bristol 2024!

The meeting will take place at M Shed, Bristol Museums, where we will share the latest news about products and services available in the Library Technology space. This includes the Open Source Library Services Platform, FOLIO, ways to manage and report on Open Access requests, as well as sharing library resources across library networks. Additionally, we will update you about BiblioGraph, Panorama and the new EBSCO Discovery Service UI.

What you will learn:

Meet FOLIO and EBSCO FOLIO ERM
FOLIO manages both print and electronic resources in a single system. But uniquely, it can be set up as a stand-alone Electronic Resource Management system as well. We will be talking about individual implementations of FOLIO ERM and how the adoption of the new system has changed how universities in the UK and Ireland manage their electronic resources on a day-to-day basis.

Meet BiblioGraph
BiblioGraph is an open data service that enhances the portability, visibility and value of your library’s catalogue. Library users can now explore, use and access your catalogue from anywhere on the web. By leveraging BIBFRAME and Linked Data, BiblioGraph connects library resources, enriches resources with data from authoritative sources such as Wikidata, ORCID and LCNAF, and enables the publishing of library resources on any website.

Meet Panorama Analytics
EBSCO’s Panorama – library specific data infrastructure to help librarians make decisions and report on library engagement.  In this session, we will cover an overview of Panorama and dive into the possibilities of what it can deliver for your academic library.

Meet EBSCO’s New Interfaces
User’s needs are constantly changing, and EBSCO has embarked on a journey to reimagine our interfaces, by combining modern user expectations with the pillars of academic searching. This session looks at the new interface of EBSCOhost, EBSCO Discovery Service and Publication Finder, and talks about the importance of being where your users are (EBSCOhost Passport).

Meet OpenRS (Open Resource Sharing)
OpenRS will go live with its first customer in May. OpenRS is a new resource sharing tool that will work across multiple different vendor library systems, including FOLIO. We will discuss how OpenRS can support UK ILL needs and Direct Consortial Borrowing and demonstrate how it facilitates borrowing across library networks.

Meet OpenAthens
OpenAthens provides modern single sign-on (SSO) technology and a better IP/Proxy experience, offering easy online access to all library resources. SSO allows end users to access EBSCO products and services using their existing institutional credentials. SSO is widely considered to be a best practice for digital access, due to its exceptional security and the control it gives your institution over data sharing.
