The academic library has traditionally faced a challenge in understanding the full scope of the institution's research outputs – keeping abreast of all the various sites where researchers deposit their works is often a manual and time-consuming process. As a result, a true understanding of the institution's research output may remain elusive and the “institutional repository” may remain underserved.
