A practical session during which we will show you how to set up a free account on the EBSCOhost platform. We will tell you how to effectively save time by using many options of the platform, e.g.: creating notifications, saving results and searches, and organizing results into thematic folders.
EBSCO databases available through the national license

During the session, we will review the EBSCO databases available for institutions through the national license in Latvia and Lithuania. End users have access to EBSCO Open Dissertations ™ - an international database of diploma theses and dissertations - and many extensive scientific databases. The Academic Search ™ Ultimate and Business Source® Ultimate databases, included partly in the package, are among the most frequently used scientific resources in the world.
eBook Manager: manage and customize your EBSCO eBooks

eBook Manager offers a complete EBSCO eBook management workflow in a single intuitive interface within EBSCOhost Collection Manager. During the training, participants will learn more about this tool which allows administrators to manage the titles available in the library, including customizing the download settings.

We will discuss: a purchase limited to the number of simultaneous users, the purchase of a pre-defined collection, subscription, purchase of DRM and DRM-free titles.

EBSCOhost tools that make your research more effective

The EBSCOhost platform is not only a place where researchers can discover scientific literature, but also work with full text and bibliography. During this practical session, we will review the functions, e.g. saving articles in an individual folder and sharing search results with others, using search history, saving data to bibliography managers including Zotero or Mendeley, and saving articles to a Google Drive account.
